I did not want to go the route of changing it and making it accept a spin on filter.
I like to use a K&N oil filter.
I have found the plastic version which is the same as the aluminum one here.
But… Why would I go plastic when I can get a stronger one?
Yes this new housing with valve opening is because I have an aluminum skid plate.
Otherwise I would not buy it because I had no issue before the skid plate.
Remember though, I bought a skid plate that was not 100% perfect in the oil pan area and I knew that when I bought it.
Which is the reason I am doing this.
